Job description
Head of Partnership and Impact Funding Christian Aid

Lead global, purpose‑led partnerships that link income with impact at Christian Aid.

  • Location: Hybrid / London
Who we are

Christian Aid is a global movement working to end poverty and injustice with people of all faiths and none. For nearly 80 years, we have stood with communities worldwide to challenge inequality, respond to crises, and tackle the root causes of poverty. Our work spans around 30 countries across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and the Caribbean, always rooted in local leadership, long‑term impact, and our core values of dignity, equality, justice and love.

About the role

As Head of Partnerships & Impact Funding, you will lead and inspire a high‑performing team to transform and grow Christian Aid’s income and impact from philanthropists, trusts and foundations, the private sector, government and multilaterals. You’ll set a clear strategy that links income to impact, strengthen collaboration across the organisation and empower regional leaders to make timely, confident decisions.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide ambitious, values‑led leadership to a team of expert fundraisers; build a culture of innovation, learning and trust.
  • Deliver step‑change growth through strategic, purpose‑driven partnerships that create long‑term value beyond transactional funding.
  • Champion convening and connection so Christian Aid is “known” and influential in priority markets, including UK and North America.
  • Partner closely with country Heads of Impact to align propositions with programme outcomes and empower in‑country decision‑making.
  • Establish robust pipeline, financial and contract management, with clear reporting to directors and the Board.

This UK‑based role has a global remit and reports to the Director of Income & Public Engagement. International travel will be required.

Who we are looking for

You’re a strategic, values‑centred leader who sees the whole picture, linking income and impact with clarity and purpose. You bring confidence working across diverse income streams and geographies, ideally within INGOs or similarly complex, mission‑driven environments. We also welcome exceptional relationship leaders from the private sector who can translate best‑in‑class partnership practice to a global charity context.

You will offer
  • A track record of multi‑million‑pound results with philanthropists, trusts & foundations (including international), business and institutions.
  • Outstanding team leadership across multiple global locations; you listen, collaborate, delegate with confidence and develop others.
  • Commercial mindset with integrity; strategic thinker who innovates, challenges orthodoxies and prioritises sustainable, long‑term value.
  • Deep understanding of international development funding models and complex programming; credible with senior external partners.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and stewardship skills; comfortable with boards and public speaking.
