Head of Finance

Wimborne, Dorset

Ultimate Banking are delighted to be partnering with a well-respected, customer focussed building society as they continue to expand their impact in the financial services space.

As their Head of Finance, you will use the best financial and risk management practices to optimise their financial structure to benefit their members and to ensure the organisation fulfils its statutory and regulatory responsibilities. Along with the day to day duties, you will also be contributing to the development of their long-term business strategy, working in partnership with the CFO and Senior Management Team.

Duties will include:

• To continuously review the organisations business model and strategy, as necessary, to make proposals for its development and improvement.
• Play an active part in the preparation of annual budgets.
• To ensure that the organisation has adequate capital, funding and liquid resources at all times.
• Review all regulatory returns for completeness and accuracy.
• To ensure the organisation has adequate systems of costing, product pricing, planning and forecasting. To ensure all treasury, payment, supplier administration and payroll activities are accurately carried out and controlled.
• To ensure the organisation complies with PRA requirements, including maintaining the ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolution Pack and stress testing framework.
• To manage the Finance function within its agreed annual budget.
• Responsible for undertaking ongoing due diligence of assigned suppliers.

The successful individual will possess:

• Be a qualified accountant with a wealth of experience in finance/accounting.
• Previously led a multi-disciplinary team.
• High attention to detail and strong knowledge with Microsoft Excel.
• Regulated industry knowledge/experience (previous experience within either a retail bank or building society would be highly desirable)
