Job description
Overview

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) is a Specialist Mental Health and Community NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust is recruiting a Head of Estates on a permanent basis. The post holder will be based at Guild Park, Goosnargh.

Responsibilities
  • Primary professional responsibility for operational contract management and performance monitoring of the hard FM delivery across the Trust’s estate through contracted maintenance providers (via SLAs with neighbouring Trusts, PFI partners and private contractors).
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for all hard FM aspects across the estate; ensure providers deliver services in accordance with statutory/mandatory compliance and HTM guidance as outlined in contracts.
  • Ensure smooth day-to-day operational delivery of all hard FM services, providing proactive and reactive support for the Trust.
  • Act as the Responsible Person for compliance-related elements such as asbestos, legionella, LOLER and pressure systems, and any other requirements for the organisation’s legal obligations.
  • Provide professional advice and input into estates-related matters and ensure work carried out by contracted parties meets high standards; contract manage effectively with a hands-on delivery approach.
  • Oversee the Estates Team and Hard FM contract within the Estates & Facilities Directorate, ensuring buildings are maintained and managed effectively across the Trust.
  • Support with compliance improvement works and minor capital projects, working with clinical and non-clinical leads on project works, improvements and reactive requests, in line with health and safety legislation and Trust policies.
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to ensure services align with Trust objectives and statutory requirements.
