The role – Head of English

The successful Head of English will:

• Require the skill set and vision to support, guide and develop a well‑resourced, friendly English department.
• Deliver creative, effective, and challenging English curriculum, keeping up to date with developments in English Education.
• Ability to teach English to KS3 – KS5.
• Track pupil progress.
• As the Head of English, promote the school ethos and values.
• Secure the quality of teaching in the department across all key stages.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum through data, observation and review of learning through books and schemes of learning.
• Attend all relevant departmental/leadership meetings.
