Join Us in Transforming HR for the NHS

At NHS Shared Business Services, we’re proud to be a unique partnership between Sopra Steria and the Department of Health, delivering essential corporate services that help NHS organisations focus on what matters most, patient care.

As market leaders, we support around 40% of the NHS with innovative, value-for-money solutions in finance, procurement, and employment services. Our work replaces outdated processes with smarter, digital systems and introduces new ways of working that improve efficiency, quality, and support for the NHS workforce.

We’re passionate about making a real difference, saving time, reducing costs, and enabling better outcomes for the NHS. Our HR Consulting Team plays a vital role in this mission, partnering with HR Directors and Chief People Officers to transform workforce services and enhance organisational performance.

This is your opportunity to lead and grow a dynamic HR Consulting Team, shaping methodologies, driving best practice, and influencing the future of HR across the NHS. You’ll have the chance to build your own team, lead sales and capability development, and oversee delivery of impactful transformation projects.

At Sopra Steria and NHS SBS, we’re proud to be recognised as a Great Place to Work and one of the Best Places to Work for Women in the UK. We prioritise wellbeing, work-life balance, and provide the training and support you need to thrive.

This role is hybrid, with a base location of London, Leeds or Manchester and some client travel.

What you'll be doing:
  • Shape and deliver the consulting strategy as part of the Consulting Leadership Team, influencing direction and driving impact.
  • Lead and develop the HR Consulting Team, fostering an inclusive culture and supporting professional growth.
  • Drive business development and sales, including creating go-to-market plans, building strong client relationships, and leading successful bids.
  • Oversee a diverse portfolio of HR consulting projects, ensuring high-quality delivery and measurable outcomes.
  • Innovate and refine HR consulting propositions, methodologies, tools, and templates to set best practice standards.
  • Collaborate across the organisation, championing transformation and ensuring alignment with client and business objectives.
What you’ll bring:
  • Extensive consulting experience, ideally from a recognised Consulting firm, with a strong track record of delivering impactful projects in the Public Sector.
  • Proven leadership in HR transformation, including designing innovative methodologies and successfully managing complex programmes.
  • Strategic and commercial expertise, with experience in developing go-to-market plans and achieving significant consulting sales targets.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, building trusted client relationships and driving growth.
  • Ability to build and lead high-performing teams, fostering an inclusive and collaborative culture that supports professional development.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with experience working at executive and clinical levels within healthcare or NHS environments.
It would be great if you had:
  • CIPD Qualification

If you are interested in this role but not sure if your skills and experience are exactly what we’re looking for, please do apply, we’d love to hear from you!
