Salary up to £90,000 + Car Allowance £5000 + 25 Days Holiday + Pension + Laptop + Phone + Mileage

Blaymires Recruitment is representing a leading Fit-Out contractor based near Farnham, Surrey, who is searching for a Head of Construction.

The company has been operating for over a decade, and the office has a turnover of £25M. They are a full-service workplace interior specialist who caters to a diverse range of UK clients in retail, education, light industrial, life sciences and commercial sectors.

The company is open to considering either a motivated Contracts Manager who is ready to take the step up, an existing Head of Construction, or a Director level individual who can hit the ground running.

The Opportunity

The business is seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Construction to lead the delivery phase of its projects, ensuring quality, safety, and client satisfaction from concept to completion. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will oversee all construction and fit-out operations, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and uphold the company\'s reputation for excellence in workplace delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all construction and fit-out activities, from mobilisation to handover
• Oversee Contract Managers, site teams, and subcontractors to deliver on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
• Manage risk assessments, health and safety compliance, and regulatory approvals
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation at a senior level in client and subcontractor meetings
• Support the capture and bidding of new construction opportunities
• Maintain a proactive approach to safety, quality, and operational risk
• Provide strategic input as part of the senior leadership team

Candidate Profile

• Proven track record in senior construction leadership, ideally within commercial interiors, office fit-out, or high-end refurbishment
• Strong understanding of design & build project lifecycles, from feasibility to final delivery
• Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage diverse teams
• Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and client-facing experience
• In-depth knowledge of building regulations, H&S legislation, and quality standards
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional spaces
