Overview

Are you a senior compliance or health & safety leader ready to shape the future of essential NHS support services? Gloucestershire Managed Services (GMS) is seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Compliance and Safety to lead our compliance, risk, and assurance functions across Cheltenham and Gloucester hospitals. In this high-profile leadership role, you'll ensure all GMS services meet their statutory, regulatory, and contractual obligations, while promoting a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead GMS-wide compliance and assurance frameworks.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including health & safety and environmental standards.
  • Oversee audits, inspections, incident investigations, and risk management.
  • Provide expert advice and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Represent GMS with external regulators and agencies.
  • Lead and support a high-performing compliance team.
Qualifications
  • Senior-level experience in compliance, H&S, or risk management.
  • Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
  • CMIOSH, MIIRSM or similar professional qualification.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Healthcare, NHS, or facilities management experience desirable.
