Responsibilities
- Shape and deliver the Clinical Engineering strategy.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians.
- Drive innovation and digital transformation across the Trust.
- Act as the key liaison with MHRA, NHS England and manufacturers on device safety.
- Manage the full lifecycle of medical devices from procurement to disposal.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: Degree in Clinical, Biomedical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Senior management experience in Clinical Engineering or Medical Devices within an acute hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical device legislation, governance and risk management.
- Experience managing budgets and delivering Clinical Improvement Projects.
- Strong leadership, communication and influencing skills.
- Understanding of NHS finance, procurement and capital planning processes (desirable).
- Experience with regulatory bodies (MHRA, CQC).
- PRINCE2 or other Project Management qualification.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent registration.
- Experience with ISO 13485 accreditation, Lean or Quality Improvement methods.
- Familiarity with Datix and risk management frameworks.
