Job description
The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a qualified and experienced Senior Gardener to join our team. We are looking for a Head Maintenance Technician to work full time on a retail site in West London area of Shepherds Bush.

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining all external planting on site including living walls, raised shrub beds, seasonal flower changes, nature reserve and weed control across the site including spraying hard standing areas and roof areas. There are a number of green walls onsite that will also need maintaining and on-going plant replacements. Onsite training will be provided as required. The successful candidate would need to manage the day to day operations for themselves and up to two other colleagues, one of which would be an apprentice. The successful candidate may also be required to assist on other sites from time to time. Company uniform and all tools required for the role will be provided.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Horticultural experience including strong plant identification skills and knowledge of horticultural practices
  • Full Driving license (On site road John Deer Gator used)
  • Great communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with ease and ensure the highest service delivery is provided.
  • Able to work as part of a team

Desirable

  • PA1 & PA6 spraying certificates
  • IPAF Boom and Scissor Lift License
  • Hold an academic horticultural qualification, such as NVQ or RHS at Level 2 or above would be desirable.
As part of your role, you will be required to;
  • Always act in a professional manner as a representative of the organisation.
  • Comply with all relevant health and safety requirements
  • Ensure that the client is always completely satisfied
  • Complete timesheets and other paperwork and ensure all is handed in promptly
  • Candidates must be flexible, responsible and proactive on site.
