Role Overview

You will lead a dynamic portfolio of destination experiences, including River Explorer Cruises, tunnel tours, tourism events, community celebrations, private hires and high–profile corporate functions. As the senior onsite lead for major events, you will work directly with VIPs, media and partners, ensuring each experience is safe, inclusive and reflects the identity of the Liverpool City Region. You will also manage filming and location hire across the LCRCA sites, instituting clear pricing and professional processes to attract high‑quality productions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations of large‑scale tourism, leisure and cultural events.
  • Drive digital customer journeys, bookings and marketing activity to expand reach and revenue.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, filming partners and location hire processes.
  • Ensure safety, inclusion and alignment with regional identity for every event.
  • Develop and manage budgets, vendor contracts and pricing strategies.
  • Lead and inspire a dedicated team, fostering creativity, growth and outstanding customer experience.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Significant senior‑level experience in planning, coordinating and delivering large‑scale events (conferences, corporate hospitality, public gatherings).
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant event legislation.
  • Strong commercial focus with a proven ability to generate income and develop new products.
  • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including marketing, digital, finance, insurers, media producers, tourist agencies and event suppliers.
  • Effective contract oversight and performance management skills.
  • Knowledge of destination marketing, visitor engagement or leisure sector partnerships.
