Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Health and Safety Officer in Aston Clinton. This role involves supporting health and safety management in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate should have a manufacturing/engineering background and qualifications such as NEBOSH. Responsibilities include maintaining H&S systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering training. The contract is for up to six months with a competitive hourly rate.

• Strong experience in health and safety compliance.
• Familiarity with H&S management systems.

Responsibilities

• Support the Health & Safety on a day-to-day basis.
• Maintain H&S management systems; ensure compliance.
• Conduct fire and risk assessments; incident reporting.
• Deliver H&S induction training.

Health and Safety Officer

Contract length: Up to 6x months

Hourly rate: £25ph - £35ph Outside IR35 - DOE

Location: Aston Clinton

Start date: ASAP

Shifts: Monday - Friday: 09:00 - 17:00

Ideal candidate background: Fast paced manufacturing environment - Ideally food, cosmetics, pharma or FMCG

Health & Safety Officer role & responsibilities

• Support the Health & Safety on day-to-day basis in a manufacturing environment
• Maintain and improve H&S management systems (CDM background beneficial)
• Ensure compliance with key regulations including COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, and DSEAR
• Conduct gap analyses, implement improvements
• support ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001) using QMS effectively
• Fire and risk assessments; building safety
• Incident reporting & fire safety
• Delivery H&s induction training

Health & Safety Officer Experience

• Candidates must come from Manufacturing/engineering background
• NEBOSH general
• IOSH Member or working towards would be advantageous
• Strong auditing experience to ISO standards
• Must have strong experience with COSHH, PUWER, ATEX, LOLER, DSEAR etc..
