Job description

Role overview:

This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy, and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager.

We are looking for a manager with experience in maintaining and developing standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times. Opening and closing the site as required due to operational hours of the business.
  • Expected to work early mornings, late weekdays, and weekends.
  • Ensure all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment are safe to use.
  • Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
  • Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
  • Ensure the entire gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness. Maintain standards outside of contracted cleaning hours.
  • Ensure in-house cleaners (General Assistant) maintain high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ensure all team members adhere to uniform standards, including yourself.
  • Deliver outstanding member service at all times.
  • Create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy their work.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects, or meetings as required.
  • Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms at all times.
Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in a management position within the leisure industry is preferred.
  • Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader in management.
  • Qualified at least to Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Experience in driving sales, coordinating local marketing, and managing a successful team.
  • Experience as an Assistant Manager or in a similar operational role within a leisure facility is preferred.
