Job description

Grower Team Leader – Hertfordshire | Full-time | Permanent | £30,900 - £34,100

What You\'ll Be Doing
  • Leading and motivating a team of growers and operatives to hit targets
  • Getting involved in planning and managing daily nursery operations
  • Monitoring crop health - spotting pests, diseases, and irrigation needs early
  • Supporting with plant protection programmes and stock movements
  • Assisting with customer orders, ensuring plants are picked, packed, and delivered to the highest standards
  • Keeping accurate records and ensuring smooth processes across the nursery

This is a role where no two days are the same; one moment you\'ll be crop walking, the next you\'ll be hands-on with stock movements, and then supporting the team to deliver orders on time.

What We\'re Looking For
  • Previous horticultural or nursery experience (ornamentals ideal, but not essential)
  • Strong leadership skills - you can inspire, motivate, and support a team
  • A keen eye for detail when it comes to plant health and quality
  • Organised and adaptable, with the ability to juggle priorities in a busy nursery environment
  • Knowledge of plant protection products (PA1/PA6 is an advantage, but training can be given)
  • Someone who enjoys working outdoors and getting stuck in alongside their team
Why You\'ll Love This Role
  • Join one of the UK\'s most established commercial nurseries
  • A chance to lead your own team while still being hands-on with the crops
  • Varied work in a supportive and collaborative environment
  • Real opportunities for training, growth, and career progression
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
