Job description

Grower / Grower Manager

Location: Warwickshire | Salary: £30,000-£38,000 (DoE)

Are you ready to take technical ownership of crops and play a key role in one of the UK's most ambitious nursery operations?

British Garden Centres have been steadily investing in their nursery infrastructure-and people-for years. With the aim of producing top-tier, premium-quality plants for retail across the UK, they're now seeking an experienced Grower or Grower Manager to take the reins at their Temple site in Warwickshire.

The Opportunity

Temple Nursery has adopted a flat management structure, meaning you'll be empowered to make critical growing decisions across the site-this is a role for someone who thrives on ownership, autonomy, and crop quality accountability.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Irrigation, feeding, pest & disease management and growth regulation.
  • Making independent climate control decisions, applying PGRs and knowing how to adjust protocols across different crop varieties.
  • Collaborating closely with the senior team while also stepping up to lead in their absence.

What You'll Bring

  • Ideally, you'll have a technical growing background, ideally with 2-3 years of commercial crop production experience.
  • The ability to make sound decisions under pressure-whether that's irrigation schedules or when to intervene with growth regulators.
  • A hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills, particularly around crop issues and quality standards.
  • Passion for plants and a desire to elevate standards, not just maintain them.

Why This Role?

  • Be at the heart of a growing nursery where your expertise will directly influence production success.
  • Work in a business with clear long-term plans-the vision is to have both nurseries operating at full capacity by 2027.
  • Join a supportive and passionate team, where your decisions will matter daily.
