Role Overview
The Group Head of Marketing will be responsible for shaping and delivering the overall marketing strategy across the group's portfolio of businesses: Citygate Automotive, AutoLoadIt, Autoworks, and Citygate Leasing. This role requires a commercially driven, innovative leader capable of developing tailored marketing approaches for each business, while ensuring efficiencies, consistency, and maximum return on investment at a group level. The group Head of Marketing will also help shape and determine the future digital customer journey and oversee our adoption of a full automotive e commerce solution.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the marketing strategy for each business while aligning with overall group objectives.
- Ensure each business has a distinct positioning in its market with clear messaging and brand identity.
- Oversee marketing budgets for each business, ensuring efficient resource allocation and ROI tracking.
- Advise the leadership team on emerging trends, opportunities, and risks within automotive, mobility, and leasing markets.
- Drive showroom traffic, online leads, and aftersales retention through targeted campaigns.
- Build awareness and demand for vehicle logistics and movement services, targeting trade and business partners.
- Promote aftersales, service, MOT, and repair solutions to retail and fleet customers.
- Develop lead generation and brand presence in the competitive leasing and mobility marketplace
- Lead integrated campaigns across digital, social, traditional, and event channels tailored to each business.
- Oversee websites, SEO, PPC, and digital lead-generation platforms to ensure optimal performance.
- Implement CRM and retention programmes to drive customer loyalty across sales and aftersales.
- Use data and analytics to measure effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Conduct market research, competitor benchmarking, and customer profiling for each business unit
- Champion the customer journey by identifying opportunities to improve engagement and retention.
- Monitor group reputation and manage PR, communications, and crisis responses as needed.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the central marketing team, ensuring skills match group needs.
- Foster strong collaboration with business heads and operational leaders to align marketing with commercial priorities.
- Manage external agencies, suppliers, and partners to deliver high-quality marketing support.
- Report regularly to the Group Board on marketing performance, impact, and return on investment.
Key Skills & Experience
- Senior-level marketing leadership experience across multi-business and multi-site organisations.
- Proven success in automotive, mobility, leasing, or logistics sectors (desirable).
- Strong understanding of digital marketing, lead generation, and customer retention strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple business priorities with a mix of B2B and B2C focus.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
- Commercial acumen with a data-driven approach to decision making.
