A leading technology firm in London seeks a Group Financial Controller to oversee global finance operations and improve internal processes. You will manage financial reporting, ensure compliance, and support team development while driving business efficiency. The role of the Group Financial Controller (FTC) at Aptitude Software is to be accountable for ensuring effective operation and delivery of the Global Finance Department. The Group Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and reporting processes for Aptitude Software ("Aptitude").
You will be expected to manage the preparation of the annual and interim reports and other statutory reporting requirements, including being the primary point of contact for the external auditors throughout the process. Other reporting requirements include global corporation tax filings and assistance in the Group’s investor relations reporting.
The Group Financial Controller is also responsible for developing and maintaining internal financial control processes and should continually seek to drive improvements in internal processes, ensuring they are repeatable and establishing best practice.
As part of the overall role, there will be an expectation that you will recognise and mitigate risk, thinking commercially as part of your decision-making process. You will operate at a senior level, providing confidence and leadership and in turn becoming the go-to person in Finance. Always focusing on the important and consistently striving to deliver value to Aptitude Software for greater business efficiency.
You will be responsible for managing finance and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, management accounts, external reporting and manage the Group’s external banking relationships. You will be required to provide support and complete ad hoc projects – implementing Fynapse, US sales taxability etc.
A key part of your role is to proactively continue your own development and actively mentor and develop other team members to aid their career development. Critical to the success of this will be your excellent communication and management skills. You are expected to continually drive and inspire others around you.
