A leading charity for dementia seeks a Group Facilitator Volunteer in Tees Valley. You will coordinate activities, welcome attendees, and support individuals affected by dementia in a friendly environment. The role involves good communication skills and empathy, with opportunities for independent facilitation. Join us in making a meaningful difference for those impacted by dementia.

Our groups provide a welcoming and supportive space for people affected by dementia to engage in activities, socialise with others and get support and information.
As a Group Facilitator Volunteer, you’ll provide key support with the administration and running of the group, by coordinating and facilitating activities, welcoming people to the group and keeping records of those attending. You’ll also support with the set-up and tidying away after the group, as well as providing encouragement to people attending to participate in the activities on offer. As well as carrying out the role as part of a team, there may be opportunities to facilitate these group sessions unsupervised, should the need arise.
Criminal Records Check This role will be subject to a satisfactory Criminal Records Check from either the Disclosure and Barring Service (England & Wales), Disclosure Scotland Check (Scotland) or AccessNI (Northern Ireland). Have you any previous experience of singing or dancing groups, and any which included working with elderly, people living with memory problems or dementia?
Group Facilitator for Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Café in Thornaby offering activities of Singing and Dancing for the Brain. Held at The Village Green Venue, Green Lane, Thornaby, TS17 8PX. The Third Monday of the Month 12.30 - 3.30 (Group is on 1-3). Looking for someone with musical experience to lead singing for the brain with dancing and musical movement. To welcome people and make them feel at ease, plan and organise sessions, co-ordinate and support volunteers.
