About the role

We are looking for a Groundworker Multi-Trade to undertake external maintenance and repair works to NCHA properties including but not limited to: landscaping, paths, driveways, car parks, repointing, bricklaying and rendering. You will maintain and repair boundaries including walls and all types of fencing, and maintain drainage systems with surveys and any associated remedial works including excavation and replacement. You may also undertake other minor repairs such as basic plumbing, basic joinery and patch plastering. You will prepare, handle, use and dispose of materials/substances in the correct manner.

You will liaise with and support other teams in the delivery and completion of repairs and maintenance works, and ensure all activities are carried out in a safe, suitable manner, minimising risk at all times.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake external maintenance and repair works to NCHA properties (landscaping, paths, driveways, car parks, repointing, bricklaying, rendering).
  • Maintain and repair boundaries (walls and fencing).
  • Maintain drainage systems, conduct drainage surveys, and perform remedial works including excavation and replacement.
  • Carry out minor repairs (basic plumbing, basic joinery, patch plastering).
  • Handle and dispose of materials/substances safely.
  • Collaborate with other teams to deliver repairs and maintenance to agreed targets and procedures.
  • Adhere to safety standards and minimise risk in all activities.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant construction trade qualification or extensive demonstrable experience.
  • Extensive experience of groundworks (excavation, laying and repairing paths, kerbs and driveways).
  • Experience of drainage works (surveys, unblocking, repairing and replacing drains).
  • Experience of brickworks (repointing, bricklaying and rendering).
  • Experience of erecting and repairing fencing; experience with basic plumbing, basic joinery and patch plastering.
  • Experience working in social housing is desirable.
  • Excellent customer service skills; problem solver who can work on own initiative and as part of a team.
Working Arrangements

Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00 - 16:30, Friday 8:00 - 15:30. A standby/call-out rota will be required to cover emergency out-of-hours repairs. A company vehicle, mobile device and power tools are provided.
