Job description

My client is looking for an engineering workshop Grinder to join on them on a permanent basis close to Heathrow Airport. You'll support the workshop by performing high-precision grinding operations on aircraft components using cylindrical and surface grinding machines. This global employer supports your training & personal development, with a view to progression within the business.

Role: Grinder

Salary: £33,670 - £37,000 incl. shift allowance
Location: Close to Heathrow Airport with free parking
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday
Shift pattern: Week one (early shift), Week two (late shift)

Job Profile

• Operate all types of grinding machines to fine limits.
• Work with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
• Read and understand technical drawings.
• Receive training and use of overhead cranes.
• Understand manual handling requirements.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and complex machinery.

Skills/Experience Required

• Extensive experience working internal and external grinding machines. Knowledge of both is essential.
• Experience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
• Aerospace background not essential but beneficial.
• Knowledge of CNC grinding preferable.
• Good communication skills.

Education & Training

• Essential: Strong experience in a similar role.
• Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
• Fluent written and spoken English communication skills.
