Ad-hoc Grid Connection Strategy & Portfolio Management Support (Remote, 1–2 Days/Week)

We are seeking an experienced professional to provide ad-hoc Grid Connection Strategy and Portfolio Management support for a scaling business with multiple BESS projects in development. This is a flexible, remote engagement, ideal for someone who thrives working independently and managing their own time.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio-level grid connection strategy across multiple projects.
  • Act as the primary interface with NESO, DNOs, and Transmission Owners for technical queries, compliance, and programme coordination.
  • Ensure projects meet all Grid Code, CUSC, and Distribution Code requirements, coordinating with engineering teams, OEMs, and EPC contractors.
  • Lead grid connection agreement management, including negotiation, compliance monitoring, and remedial action.
  • Track programme risks, dependencies, and critical milestones, ensuring impacts on cost, schedule, and financing are understood and communicated.
  • Support lender and investor due diligence with grid connection and compliance information.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Strong experience in grid connection strategy, technical assurance, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience liaising with NESO, DNOs, and Transmission Owners.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and risk management skills.
  • Flexibility to commit approximately 1–2 days per week on an ad-hoc basis.
