Overview

Graphic Design Studio Assistant - 3‑Month Temporary Role (Potential to Go Permanent) – Yate, Bristol. £12.21 per hour. Immediate Start. Full‑time with full training provided. This is a role in a fast‑growing packaging and manufacturing environment, suitable for a graphic design graduate or early‑career designer who is enthusiastic and eager to develop within a supportive studio.

As the Graphic Design Studio Assistant, you will support the Graphic Design Studio Manager in the coordination, creation and delivery of packaging and label artwork, help run day‑to‑day studio operations, assist with artwork workflows, and produce high‑quality in‑house samples.

No prior studio experience is required; full training is provided with hands‑on exposure to industry‑standard processes, tools and print technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Studio Operations & Management: Assist with daily studio operations, including printing and forming UK‑made product samples. Support checks to ensure packaging meets relevant guidelines and certification requirements. Help implement artwork management systems such as Ziflow to improve workflow, approvals and file sharing. Maintain accurate project tracking and version control using systems like Ziflow and Asana. Review third‑party artwork for accuracy, consistency and print readiness.
  • Project & Communication Responsibilities: Serve as a key point of contact for packaging and label design projects. Liaise confidently with internal teams, external customers and global partners. Translate design requests into clear and accurate briefs for manufacturing partners.
  • Design Knowledge, Trends & Technology: Stay up to date with software, design developments and industry trends. Maintain a basic understanding of how AI can support product visualisation. Keep informed on traditional printing methods and new technologies. Continually learn about new design tools, processes and best practice.
  • Skills Development: Build new creative and technical skills including animation and 3D image creation. Gain practical, hands‑on studio experience to grow as a professional designer.
Key Skills & Competencies

  • Confident communicator across varied stakeholders.
  • Comfortable with packaging/label design concepts and image editing.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator).
  • Understanding of digital, flexographic or offset printing is a bonus – not essential.
