A leading engineering firm in Long Eaton is offering a graduate role in the Derby Rolling Stock Engineering Team. The successful candidate will complete a two-year development programme while contributing to live projects. Responsibilities include designing components and managing technical requirements. Applicants should have a minimum 2:1 BEng or MEng in a relevant degree and possess strong problem-solving and communication skills. The role will be based in one of the technical metiers (departments) within the Derby Rolling Stock Engineering Team. The graduate scheme will give you the opportunity to develop your technical skills and rolling stock knowledge as you work on live projects and product development activities across a range of scopes. You will complete a two-year accredited development programme whilst providing a tangible contribution to the success of the team. During the programme, you will undertake a series of rotations around the function gaining an understanding of the business and the service operation lifecycle. Developing your knowledge during your time at Alstom is key, along with developing your skills, experience and leadership mindset. Within a climate of innovation, you will also support solutions to meet the customer requirements as part of the safety case and train presentation, support the identification and delivery of continuous improvement. You will have the opportunity to complete on the job learning, which is complemented by a modular personal development programme. Supported by a mentor, you will be able to work towards gaining a relevant professional qualification. We'll look to you for Delivering Engineering activities on rolling stock projects.
