Job summary

An established engineering business in Sheffield is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer. You'll create CAD models, assist in contract documentation, and manage BOMs. Ideal candidates are recently qualified with a Mechanical Design degree (2:1 or above) and have basic knowledge of CAD software. This position offers a salary between £25,000 - £30,000 and a supportive training environment.

Overview

A great opportunity for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering business that specialises in quality pipework and structural fabrications. The company has a long-standing presence in South Yorkshire and recently secured another major contract, expanding their experienced design team.

Responsibilities

• Creating 3D CAD models as per clients' designs and calculations.
• Supporting and assisting in producing contract documentation and working closely with the engineering team to deliver large projects.
• 3D laser scanning.
• Support in developing quality and work procedures for the workshop and factory.
• Managing BOMs within the MRP system.
• Some general engineering administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Recently qualified Design Engineer / CAD Operative.
• Ideally degree holders in Mechanical Design - 2:1 or above.
• Basic knowledge of 3D CAD software.
• Strong numerical and methodical problem-solving skills.

Offer

• Salary dependent upon experience £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
• Permanent position - 3 month probation.

• Work with and learn from an existing team of 3 in the design office.
