Qualifications

  • Degree or post-graduate qualification in an environmental discipline (or working towards).
  • Good understanding of the EIA Regulations and planning system.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and participation in business development and industry events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the coordination of EIA projects, including managing inputs from technical specialists.
  • Help prepare project plans, timelines, and documentation to support senior consultants.
  • Track project progress and ensure tasks are completed on time.

The Role

As a Graduate EIA Consultant, you will provide environmental inputs across all project lifecycles; from early strategy development, through feasibility, optioneering/ option selection, outline design, to detailed design, discharging of consents, construction, and scheme operation/ maintenance.

Project Support & Coordination
  • Assist in the coordination of EIA projects, including managing inputs from technical specialists.
  • Help prepare project plans, timelines, and documentation to support senior consultants and project managers.
  • Track project progress and ensure tasks are completed on time.
Environmental Assessment & Research
  • Carry out background research on environmental topics, policies, and local planning requirements.
  • Assist with scoping exercises to identify potential environmental impacts.
  • Support baseline data collection, including desk studies and occasional field visits.
Technical Writing & Reporting
  • Draft sections of Environmental Statements, EIA Screening Reports, EIA Scoping Reports, and other planning‑related documents.
  • Review and summarise technical reports produced by specialist consultants.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in reporting.
Stakeholder Engagement Support
  • Help prepare materials for stakeholder consultations (e.g., presentations, briefing notes, summaries).
Qualifications
  • Degree or post‑graduate qualification in an environmental discipline (or working towards).
  • Good understanding of the EIA Regulations and planning system.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative and participation in business development and industry events.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, and some working knowledge of GIS. Design and MS Project experience desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
  • Strong graphics and report presentation skills desirable.
  • High quality report writing skills.
