Graduate CAD Technician (M&E) – Nottingham

Are you a Mechanical Engineering graduate with placement experience looking for formal and on-the-job training to develop your career? You will join a modern M&E consultancy that is family-run and focused on continuous improvement, providing excellent training and actively encouraging career development and progress. You will work on projects of various sizes to produce accurate drawings of mechanical & electrical building services using your understanding of mechanical engineering, including roof supports, basic bracketry, modular frames, pipe support systems, and walkways using Autodesk Inventor and interacting with customers\' models in Navisworks and REVIT. The drawings start from initial design through to fabrication and installation-ready drawings.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and visualise customers' needs to provide designed and engineered solutions that meet specifications, situational detail, and budget requirements.
  • Create high-quality (right first time) technical 2D & 3D drawings.
  • Deliver detailed manufacturing drawings to the workshop for construction.
  • Supply detailed requirements to 3rd parties for laser cut parts, powder coating, galvanising or other outsourced work.
  • Support the Engineering Manager to perform basic structural load calculations.
  • Develop design concepts for new products and innovations.
The Person
  • CAD Technician experience from an M&E background OR
  • Graduate in Mechanical Engineering with AutoCAD experience and a successful work placement.
