Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a GP Receptionist/Administrator to join the Practice Team at Tredegar Medical Practice for an 8‑month fixed term. The post holder(s) will play a crucial role in supporting the multidisciplinary team and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the central point of contact for patients, distributing information, messages and enquiries to the clinical team, and liaising with external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers.
  • Maintain and monitor the practice appointment system.
  • Process personal, telephone and electronic requests for appointments.
  • Answer incoming phone calls and address callers' requests appropriately; respond to queries and escalates when necessary.
  • Signpost patients to the correct service.
  • Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
  • Organise patient appointments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
