Job description
GP Partner / Salaried GP (4–8 sessions)
Location: Palatine Group Practice, Isle of Man
About Us

We are a progressive, patient-centred teaching practice committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care to our community. As an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, we pride ourselves on maintaining a positive working environment that values teamwork, learning, and professional development.

About the Practice

Our well-established practice consists of seven GP partners, supported by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, two Practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, Clinical Pharmacist, and a First Contact Physiotherapist.

Due to a forthcoming retirement and partner relocation, we are seeking an enthusiastic GP to join our team for 4–8 sessions per week (up to 12 sessions available). We are flexible and will accommodate different sessional preferences to support work–life balance.

As a training practice, we provide education and supervision for Foundation Year 2 doctors, GP specialty trainees, and medical students. There are opportunities to develop special interests and become involved in:

  • GP education and training
  • Minor surgery
  • IUD fitting

Participation in out-of-hours work is optional.

Our Values

Our work is guided by a clear set of values which shape our culture and approach to care:

  • Patient-centred care: placing patients’ needs, dignity, and wellbeing at the heart of our decisions.
  • Compassionate care: providing respectful, kind, and empathetic support to patients and colleagues.
  • Safe, evidence-based practice: ensuring our clinical care is guided by current best practice and continual learning.
  • Team working: promoting collaboration, trust, and mutual support within the team.
  • A nurturing environment for learning: fostering professional growth for all staff, trainees, and students.
The Location

The Isle of Man offers an excellent quality of life in a safe and family-friendly environment. With a local hospital on site, it provides the benefits of a close-knit community alongside a strong healthcare infrastructure.

  • Excellent schools and childcare provision
  • Beautiful natural surroundings and diverse outdoor activities
  • Active local communities and cultural opportunities
  • Remuneration comparable to UK rates, with lower taxation
  • GMS contract is NHS-based but locally negotiated
  • Convenient sea and air links to the UK and Ireland
The Candidate

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate, and forward-thinking GP who shares our commitment to high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centred care. An interest in training, education, or minor surgery would be advantageous, though not essential. Both newly qualified and experienced practitioners are welcome to apply.
