Global Financial Controller - Group Manufacturing

The role

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our manufacturing entities across the globe. Reporting to the Manufacturing Board, the Group Manufacturing Financial Controller will work closely with the Manufacturing Finance team, two UK-based Global Finance Business Partners, five international Finance Managers, and the wider Group Finance team. This role includes the potential for international travel and on-site collaboration with local finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Review monthly and forecasted financial reports from our five global manufacturing entities, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cashflow Statement, Inventory forecasts, and Capital Expenditure. Validate and challenge results to ensure accuracy and reliability before submission to Group Finance. Lead the development of new reports in response to evolving business requirements.
  • Finance Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of the monthly Global Management Pack and the annual budget. Deliver clear, jargon-free presentations of financial results to senior management, connecting financial performance to operational outcomes. Responsible for the written Global Manufacturing report submitted monthly to Group Finance as part of the Leadership Finance Update.
  • Financial Analysis: Perform detailed financial analysis to deliver insights to senior stakeholders, identify key performance indicators, and recommend strategies to improve financial outcomes.
  • Internal controls: Implement and uphold strong internal controls to maintain data integrity, ensure compliance, and safeguard assets across all global locations. Maintain the Group Manufacturing Accounting Manual, and update or introduce policies and procedures to reflect operational changes.
  • Audit management: Support the coordination of the global year-end audit, including assisting international teams with month-end and year-end procedures, resolving queries, and managing audit requests.
  • Global Teams: Support as required in the recruitment, training and development of the global manufacturing Finance Managers. Collaborating with senior finance leaders in the UK to provide day-to-day support and work together on resolving operational issues escalated by Finance Managers.
  • Capital expenditure: Collect and consolidate Capital Expenditure budgets and provide regular reporting.
  • Project work: Participate in various business projects as needed, offering financial support and guidance across different functions.
