A global leader in heavy machinery is seeking a Global Commercial Director (Generators) based in Belfast or Larne. This role will manage a P&L of EUR 300 million and lead a global team of 70 employees. Key responsibilities include delivering double-digit growth, ensuring strong customer relationships, and defining the commercial strategy to achieve targets. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the distributed power generation market and have excellent leadership and communication skills. Salary / Grade : per annum (depending on experience)

Location : Belfast or Larne

Contributory pension scheme - Caterpillar will double the employees contribution up to 6%.

The opportunity

For over 50 years FG Wilson generator sets have been trusted to provide essential power to a wide range of applications globally. From 6.8 to 2500 kVA FG Wilson oﬀers one of the widest ranges of diesel‑fueled generator sets built in modern facilities in Brazil China and India.

We are currently searching for FG Wilson Global Commercial Director to lead EUR 300 M P&L with 70 employees globally ensuring to deliver double digit growth both in top and bottom line. The Global Commercial Director will report to Caterpillar EPD Vice President.

What you will do

Own end to end commercial P&L of FG Wilson.
Ensure double digit grow on top and bottom line.
Lead organization of 70 employees globally including sales service marketing product management product support and other business functions.
Establish and nurture executive relationships with key customers.
Deliver on assigned financial and non‑financial targets.
Establish and execute on FGW Commercial Strategy 2030.
Coach and develop key talents within FGW organization.

What you have

Industry Knowledge - Level Extensive Experience :

Good knowledge of distributed power generation market
Technical understanding of diesel genset / recipe (up to 2.5 MWe) will be considered advantage

Business Development Level Extensive Experience :

Ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.
Develops strategies to present new business ideas to small and large perspective business partners.
Analyzes alternative business development approaches and strategies.
Designs common and industry‑specific benchmarks for business development.

Relationship Management - Level Extensive Experience :

Experience with leading medium to large global teams.
Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.
Maintains productive long‑term relationships with clients or vendors.
Creates opportunities to educate support teams on client priorities.
Empowers others to establish collaborative healthy relationships.

Customer Focus - Level Extensive Experience :

Fosters strong customer relationships via delivery on commitments open communication and on‑going feedback / improvement.
Anticipates customer needs focusing efforts to proactively meet needs and exceed customer expectations.

Education

Bachelor degree in technical field or business is required
Master degree or / and MBA will be considered advantage

Additional information

Ability / willingness to travel 50% - 75% of the time to customers dealers and internal meetings globally.
