Global Category Manager – Travel & Car Fleet (Indirect Procurement)

Location: north London (1 day per week)

Salary: £65,000-£85,000 + car allowance + bonus + strong package

Role Overview

The Global Category Manager leads strategy, sourcing, and supplier management for the Travel and Car Fleet categories within the Indirect Procurement function. The role drives global category performance, manages key suppliers, and ensures alignment across regional and local procurement teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Category Strategy : Develop and implement global strategies for Travel (air, hotel, TMC, ground transport) and Car Fleet (leasing, fuel, maintenance).
  • Strategic Sourcing : Lead RFI / RFP processes, negotiations, supplier selection, and contracting.
  • Supplier Management : Oversee strategic suppliers, monitor KPIs, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Network Leadership : Coordinate global procurement stakeholders to ensure consistent category deployment.
  • Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with Finance, HR, Operations, and Legal to incorporate business needs into category decisions.
  • Market & Data Insights : Analyze spend data, market trends, and risks to identify opportunities and optimize category performance.
  • Contracting & Compliance : Negotiate and manage contracts while ensuring policy alignment and risk mitigation.
Profile
  • 7–10 years of Indirect Procurement experience, ideally across multiple categories.
  • Experience managing complex sourcing projects and supplier relationships.
  • Exposure to Travel and / or Car Fleet categories is beneficial , but not required.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and ability to work with fragmented datasets.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management; able to influence without authority.
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
