Position: Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Derby

Salary & Benefits: £45,000 - £55,000, Chartership Support, Visa Sponsorship, Diverse Projects, Company Car, Expenses, Training, Progression, Hybrid Working, Starting ASAP

We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to join a forward-thinking contractor. This role offers the opportunity to lead technically, influence design processes, and contribute to high-value civil and residential projects across the region.

You will be part of an award-winning principal contractor known for its industry reputation and expanding project pipeline. The company provides structured training, support for chartership, and clear progression pathways, enabling you to grow into a future leadership role within the organization.

Your responsibilities as a Geotechnical Engineer will include:

  1. Design piled foundations, ground improvements, and retaining walls using specialist software such as Wallap, Plaxis 2D, and Oasys.
  2. Conduct geotechnical analysis and interpret ground investigation data to develop robust, cost-effective solutions.
  3. Prepare compliant design reports to support tenders and ongoing project delivery.
  4. Collaborate with clients and site teams to ensure accurate implementation and adherence to standards.
  5. Promote continuous improvement in safety and design practices.

Ideal candidate qualifications:

  • Experience in geotechnical design within the construction sector.
  • Relevant academic qualifications, including a degree in a related field.
  • UK driving license with flexibility for travel.
  • Commercial awareness for effective project delivery.
