Overview

Job Title: Gear Cutter
Location: Barton Under Needwood, Staffordshire
Duration: 3 months min
Hours: 7am-4pm Mon to Thurs, 7am-1pm Fri

Our engineering client based in Barton Under Needwood require and experience Gear Cutter, for a minimum of 3 months work.

Responsibilities
  • Use of a wide range of measuring equipment to check components.
  • Writing and interpreting instructions and procedures to assemble equipment and products accurately.
  • Obtaining relevant information from the relevant sources
  • Controlling machines and processes.
  • Performing inspections of equipment, structures, materials, and products.
  • Analysing information and finding the best solutions to problems.
  • Maintaining clear and honest communication at all times.
  • Keeping the work environment safe.
  • Learning and applying the latest relevant knowledge to the work
  • Mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable
  • Work to and support all relevant 5S activities.
  • Report any near misses
  • Ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
  • Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager.
  • Adhere at all times to the company’s Health, Safety & Environmental instructions, and requirements.
  • Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee’s skills and abilities.
Background & Experience
  • Minimum 1-year experience in relevant rail or automotive industry.
  • Be practical mechanically oriented.
  • Possess good problem-solving skills.
  • Recognised engineering qualification required.
  • Self-motivated
