The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fund Manager Assistant to support our Fixed Income investment team. You will assist the Fund Manager in managing investment portfolios and play a crucial role in day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient execution of investment strategies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with rules and regulations related to investment portfolios.
• Assist with order raising, portfolio monitoring, and risk management.
• Monitor cash balances and support fund managers in managing cash flows.
• Support the order generation process, ensuring trading activities are compliant and appropriate.
• Maintain desk procedures, guides, and risk registers, ensuring adherence to processes and controls.
• Provide ad hoc support to Fund Managers.
• Identify operational challenges and collaborate with management to improve controls.
• Coordinate with Compliance and Risk teams, especially regarding breaches and new instruments.
• Work with management to improve processes, understanding risks and applying controls.
• Liaise with other departments, including Information Systems and Investment Operations, to resolve issues.
• Test and implement system changes, collaborating with system development and support teams.
• Assist in report production for other departments, such as Investment Reporting.
• Provide cover for other Fund Manager Assistants when needed.
• Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with personnel at all levels.

Qualifications

• Have an understanding of Fixed Income investment products and the asset management industry.
• Be proactive, enthusiastic, and a self-starter.
• Possess a numerate, logical, and analytical approach, with relevant mathematical background beneficial.
• Be proficient in PC use and able to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
• Have knowledge of asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, FX, and Derivatives.
• Experience in operational environments with an understanding of risk and control in asset management.
• Experience in maintaining procedural documentation.
• Experience managing complex processes with focus on risk reduction, standardization, and automation.
• Experience with Aladdin and Bloomberg platforms is desirable.
