Freelance Assessor

Location: Remote (UK)

Department: Assessor Services

Salary: Each assessed unit is paid individually, and this is based on the start, middle or final unit

Hours: Minimum of ten hours per week

Contract Type: Part Time, Freelance

Purpose of the role

The purpose of this role is to assess and provide feedback for Level 2 Learners that enrol onto short 4 - 16 week qualifications with our client to a high quality, within set SLAs, in line with the assessment and feedback standards.

In addition, the capability to operate effectively and meet service level agreements, while maintaining CPD from home is essential.

Responsibilities
  • Effective implementation of their assessment, marking and feedback standards ensuring consistency across all Learners
  • Provide a minimum of 10 hours assessment marking and support to Learners per week
  • Return feedback within a maximum of 8 days of allocation in line with their feedback framework
  • Carry out guidance and support sessions to help and support Learners development and progress where needed
  • Maintain high quality CPD activity relating to the qualification assessed, and provide required evidence to our client
  • Maintain compliance records in relation to role
  • Attend standardisation sessions remotely or in person every quarter
  • Support with the delivery of External Services by taking a caseload of Learners for assessment, in line with expected their quality standards and SLAs.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Minimum of Level 2 Qualifications in English and Mathematics (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of a Level 2 Qualification within subject specific area
  • Assessing award/qualification
Desirable
  • Teaching & Learning Qualification
  • Internal verification and/or quality assurance qualification
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
  • Vocational CPD or experience within relevant sector
  • Current or previous Assessor
  • Experience of working within a role related to the industries associated with their Academy (including carrying out at least 20 hours industry specific CPD) to be evidenced every 3 months
  • Knowledge of the Ofsted framework and experience of inspections
Desirable
  • Experience carrying out high quality internal verification practice

While the role is remote, applicants must reside within the United Kingdom.
