A local authority in the UK seeks compassionate individuals to become foster carers. You will provide a nurturing home for children, receiving significant training and ongoing support. Previous parenting experience is not necessary, but a willingness to care for children is essential. This role offers various types of fostering options, including short-term and long-term placements.
Make a lasting difference. Do you want to make a difference to the lives of children and young people? Fostering could make that happen. Children in Newcastle need safe, nurturing homes. Newcastle City Council are looking for resilient and compassionate individuals, couples, and families to become foster carers.
You don’t need to have experience of parenting or working with children - significant training and support can be provided – but we welcome those with prior experience to consider utilising their skills as foster carers. We welcome carers from all backgrounds.
Fostering is something you can do short-term or long term, some of the time or all of the time. Here are some examples of the types of fostering we offer:
Our payments consist of two parts: a weekly allowance to cover the child’s needs, and a tiered fee. Both are dependent upon the needs of the child or children in your care, and the skills and experience you have to meet these needs.
For a full breakdown of weekly fees and allowances, please visit the Newcastle fostering website.
Please email fosteringcommunication@newcastle.gov.uk to provide a short paragraph about yourself, your home, and why you are interested in becoming a foster carer for Newcastle City Council.
