Foreman – highways

Location: Surrey/London

We are looking for a Foreman to join our client who provide highway maintenance services across the UK and work within Surrey and surrounding areas. You will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of site personnel and subcontractors, reporting of all relevant site activities, managing the quality of work performed, meeting specifications and ensure all statutory requirements are adhered to on site whilst maintaining outputs.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise site personnel and subcontractors and coordinate activities
  • Report all relevant site activities and progress
  • Ensure work meets specifications and statutory requirements
  • Maintain quality of work and ensure compliance with environmental and quality systems
  • Maintain productivity and cost effectiveness through initiative and deductive problem solving
  • Operate within highway maintenance projects in Surrey and surrounding areas
Qualifications
  • Must have worked in the highways industry (Civil Engineering)
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous knowledge of traditional construction activities
  • Proven ability to supervise construction subcontractors
  • Strong understanding of environmental management and quality systems
  • Ability to use own initiative and apply a deductive approach
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience
  • Clean driving license
  • CSCS card, NVQ 3 or 4, First Aid, Manual Handling, SMSTS
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
