Overview

Job Title: Food & Textiles Technician

Salary: Scale 3 point 5 to 6 £25,583-£25,989 (FTE) £16,182.88 -£16,439.61 (pro rata actual salary)

Hours: 27 hours a week, 8.00-2pm Mon-Thurs, 8.00-1.30pm Friday which includes a 30min lunch break. (Hours could be negotiated for the right candidate)

Working Pattern: Term time only plus 3 inset days

Contract type: Permanent

Closing date: Monday 6th October 2025

Interview Date: TBC

Start Date: ASAP

Responsibilities
  • We are looking to appoint an experienced Food & Textiles Technician to provide efficient and effective technical support within the department.
  • The post holder will be required to support the delivery of both food and textiles courses.
  • Techniques used in food preparation and safe handling of food
  • Textiles equipment and techniques
  • Ability to communicate and demonstrate this knowledge effectively to staff and students is required
  • A good understanding of health and safety procedures is essential as well as a good level of literacy numeracy and ICT skills.
