Job Title: Food technology teacher   |  Location: Sevenoaks   |  Start date: Flexible   |  Contract Type: Temporary (with opportunity to become long term)   |  Pay Rate: 130 - 200 per day

At term time teachers we're recruiting for a fantastic secondary school in Sevenoaks. The school is known for its strong academic success, amazing facilities and a great place to work. It provides an excellent environment for a Food technology teacher to develop and help children to excel in their learning.

The Role

As a food technology teacher, you will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging, and curriculum led lessons that deepen students understanding of food technology including nutrition, food science, and health but also develop their practical skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe kitchen practices. You will work with students across Key Stages 3 to 5, adapting your lesson strategies to meet a range of learning needs and ensuring all pupils are challenged, supported, and inspired to succeed in both the academic and practical elements of the subject.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching of Food Technology to students up to Year 13.
  • Plan, prepare, and assess engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that motivates students.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers as required.
Requirements for the Food Technology Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum up to KS5
  • Experience relating to the job role
  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Right to Work in the UK.
  • Ability to provide two professional references from within the last two years.
