A leading support organization in Solihull is looking for a Floating Housing Support Practitioner to assist vulnerable clients in maintaining their tenancy and navigating challenges related to homelessness. Qualifications

Floating Housing Support Practitioner

£25,842 - £27,882 per annum

Permanent, 37 hours per week

Solihull

Do you have an understanding of homelessness, alcohol and substance health related issues, and experience of working with adults in an addictions, housing or social care setting? Welcome to Aquarius as a Floating Housing Support Practitioner.

Responsibilities
  • Work across the borough of Solihull to support clients who are vulnerably housed or homeless, visiting clients' homes and various locations.
  • Provide a person‑centred approach, supporting clients to maintain their tenancy and reduce the risk of homelessness.
  • Build support networks, promote independence and overall wellbeing in the community.
  • Understand the barriers clients face to accessing services and help them navigate these challenges.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Qualification in health/social care, youth or community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies).
  • Alternatively, experience in substance misuse, housing and homelessness with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
  • Good knowledge of alcohol, drug and health related issues.
  • Experience liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals.
  • Comfortable engaging with clients in a variety of service delivery settings.
  • Flexible approach, commitment to confidentiality, excellent record‑keeping and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly in terms of hours to support clients.
  • Desirable: driving licence and access to a car.
