Salary: £41,140.51 per annum + Excellent Benefits!

We are now recruiting for a Flexographic Printer to join our team!

You will be responsible for leading and operating a flexographic print machine whilst ensuring your print operations are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up and operating print machinery safely and efficiently, maintaining a clean and compliant work area.
• Monitoring and delivering production orders, ensuring print quality is consistently high.
• Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards including BRC, ISO and A2 permit.
• Carrying out print inspections, troubleshooting issues, and resolving non-conformities with support from colleagues.
• Applying lean manufacturing principles such as 5S and SMED, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Accurately completing all paperwork, electronic data, and change request forms.
• Conducting thorough shift handovers, ensuring smooth transitions between shifts.
• Performing press changeovers and run speeds in line with KPIs, minimising waste during print runs.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Fully trained Flexographic Printer – relevant print qualifications City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 an advantage.
• Additional qualifications e.g. fire safety, first aid etc. an advantage but not essential.
• Good level of literacy and numeracy, preferably GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent.
• Extensive flexographic print experience, specifically with solvent-based inks and wide web presses.
• Experience of Fischer + Krecke 16S or Bobst 20SIX CI print machines an advantage.
• Strong background in manufacturing, either label or packaging printing.
• Exposure to Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement techniques an advantage.
• Plate mounting experience an advantage also.
• Experience of overseeing the work of others on the print press.
• Considerable exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.

Shift Patterns:

• Printers operating the F&K machine, they will work a 12‑hour shift pattern spread over a rotating 4‑week cycle.
• Week 1 – 4 nights, 3 off.
• Week 2 – 3 days, 1 off, 3 nights.
• Week 3 – 3 off, 4 days.
• Week 4 – 7 off.
