A leading local council in Wakefield is hiring a Fleet and Workshop Support Officer to join their Transport Services Team. This role involves providing a technical reception service, assisting with fleet maintenance, and performing general administrative duties in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have at least 4 GCSEs, including English and Mathematics, and relevant experience. You’ll be joining us at an exciting time, as we’ve moved into our new, state-of-the-art fleet maintenance facility in Featherstone.
As an Fleet and Workshop Support Officer you will be part of a friendly supportive team within a fast paced fleet maintenance workshop environment. If you have good knowledge of Microsoft Office, great communication and organisational skills and are able to be self-motivated and adaptable, this could be the role for you. Your main duties will include:
We are problem solvers so you will need to able to use your initiative to deal with them and support the management team in co‑ordinating issues across the Service. A technical knowledge of vehicles and plant is required or the ability to learn and you will be supported in your Continued Professional Development as the vehicle & plant industry is ever changing. Other general administrative duties such as photocopying and filing are also part of the role although we are currently progressing to a paperless working environment. Applicants should hold; 4 GCSE passes (grade A to C) or equivalent including English Language and a numeracy based subject, normally mathematics and be able to demonstrate experience in a busy reception / office environment and a relevant qualification.
