Job summary

A leading consulting firm is seeking a Fire Safety Manager in South East London. This role involves managing fire safety inspections, compliance, and guiding a team of Fire Safety Surveyors. Candidates should possess a Level 4 Fire Safety qualification and demonstrate strong knowledge of fire safety legislation. This is a hybrid position for a 3 to 6 month contract aimed at enhancing public safety.

Fire Safety Manager

South East London

Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm (hybrid position)

3 to 6 month ongoing contract

About the Role As Fire Safety Manager, you will:

  • Lead on all fire safety policy, inspections, and compliance across housing stock.
  • Manage and guide a team of Fire Safety Surveyors and external consultants.
  • Provide expert advice and strategic direction on fire risk assessments and fire safety works.
  • Deliver training, ensure legal compliance, and represent the Council when required.
  • Contribute to making Southwark a safer, fairer place for all.

What We're Looking For You’ll need:

  • Level 4 Fire Safety qualification and FSA Tier 3 status.
  • Strong knowledge of fire safety legislation (e.g. Fire Safety Order 2005, PAS 79, Building Safety Act).
  • Demonstrated experience managing fire safety in housing, including liaison with the Fire Brigade.
  • A confident leader who can explain complex fire safety issues to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Passion for public service and commitment to equality and accountability.
