Job description
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee fire door installation, remedial works, and replacements, ensuring full compliance with BM Trada and industry standards.
  • Work closely with a small team of fitters, carpenters, and fire stoppers, providing both leadership and hands‑on support where required.
  • Carry out site inspections, checking door gaps, seals, closers, and hardware, addressing any non‑compliances directly.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, manage RAMS, and ensure all works meet health & safety requirements.
  • Maintain clear records of progress, compliance checks, and sign‑offs using digital reporting systems.
  • Liaise with clients, residents, and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and resolve issues efficiently.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Site Manager, Site Supervisor, or Lead Fitter within fire doors and/or passive fire protection.
  • Strong knowledge of fire door compliance, including gap tolerances, sealing methods, hinges, and closers.
  • Comfortable with remedial works and able to provide hands‑on support where necessary.
  • Ability to manage and motivate small teams while ensuring quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, or equivalent H&S certification desirable.
