Job description
The Company

A newly established Private Equity backed buy-and-build vehicle, aiming to create one of the UK’s leading businesses in its sector. With £100m of Private Equity funds committed and the first acquisition already confirmed, this is a business that is going to grow very rapidly, with plans for many acquisitions over the next few months and years, consolidating a fragmented market and building a high-quality, scalable organisation.

The Role

This is an incredibly rare opportunity for a chartered accountant who is between 0 and 3 years qualified. You’ll be joining at the very start of the journey with a £100m acquisition fund ready to be deployed and will be working closely with the CFO. Based in Wilmslow (with hybrid working), this is a broad role that offers hands-on involvement in finance operations, investor reporting, M&A activity, systems implementation and integration of acquisitions.

As the business grows, so too will the scope and seniority of your role. Working closely with an experienced CFO and senior leadership team you will materially contribute to building a best in class finance function from the ground up, while receiving direct mentorship and support from the CFO.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and cashflow forecasts and variance analysis including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of Board packs and investor reporting for the PE team
  • Involvement in audit, tax and compliance matters
  • Supporting the CFO with M&A due diligence and integration of acquisitions
  • Helping design and improve financial processes, systems and controls
The Candidate
  • Qualified accountant (0 to 3 years qualified). You may be an ACA making your first move into industry (a transition for which support will be provided), or you may be already working in industry.
  • Strong technical grounding.
  • Commercially aware, detail-focused, adaptable
  • Strong Excel skills and an interest in developing broader finance systems knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills, confident engaging with senior stakeholders
  • Enthusiastic, hands-on, and keen to learn in a fast-paced environment

If you’re looking for a first move into industry - or for a second move within industry, this role has it all.
