A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Financial Reporting Accountant for a 6-month FTC based in Manchester. This hybrid role offers flexibility in working hours and involves producing external financial reports and managing complex statutory and tax-related projects. The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong financial reporting experience and excellent skills in data analysis and stakeholder management. The role offers an annual salary of £85,000 plus benefits, with potential for temp-to-perm.
Financial Reporting Accountant (6-month FTC) | Manchester (Hybrid - 2W : 3H) | Flexible hours outside of 10 : 00 - 16 : 00 | £85,000 + benefits | Retail / Ecommerce
A high-growth, digitally focused retail business is transforming its finance function and investing in group reporting capability. This 6-month project-focused role will sit at the centre of that change, offering exposure to complex group reporting, tax and one-off projects within a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Own external financial reporting for the Group, producing high-quality statutory information for half-year and year-end, plus monthly and quarterly reporting packs for key external stakeholders.
Lead on project deliverables, including subsidiary statutory accounts, interim accounts, year-end tax computations, new overseas entity setup and capital reduction work, partnering closely with advisors and senior finance stakeholders.
Prepare technical accounting papers to support Group accounting policies, oversee annual tax computations from external advisors, and support ad-hoc projects and competitor reporting / market analysis as the team modernises.
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with strong technical financial reporting experience and autonomy.
Experience in retail, ecommerce, digital or other fast-moving, change-oriented sectors, with excellent Excel skills and confidence working with large data sets to produce clear, insightful analysis.
High-energy, hands-on operator with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, resilient and adaptable, able to partner with senior finance and wider business leaders in a non-hierarchical, evolving finance function.
Manchester-based hybrid role,
typically 1-2 days per week in a city centre office , with the remainder worked remotely.
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with core hours
to support collaboration, and genuine scope for temp-to-perm if there is mutual interest as the finance transformation progresses.
