This is a 6 month contract with the chance to go permanent.

About the Business

An opportunity to be an Interim Financial Controller for a well‑respected, exciting business based at the Kidderminster head office. This is a senior finance leadership role within a well‑established, purpose‑driven organisation with a strong public profile and a long‑term focus on sustainability. The Interim Financial Controller will be a key member of the senior management team, providing clear financial insight to support decision‑making.

Main Duties
  • Lead the preparation, management, and delivery of the annual budget
  • Produce accurate, insightful management information for senior leadership and governance bodies
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to support commercial planning and strategic decision‑making
  • Present and explain regular financial performance reports to the Board
  • Participate in and provide financial input to relevant committees and working groups
  • Lead, manage, and develop the finance team, including performance appraisals and professional development
  • Drive continuous improvement of financial systems, controls, and accounting processes
  • Develop and enhance the functionality of transactional and reporting systems
  • Coordinate the organisation and preparation of the Annual General Meeting, including statutory notifications
  • Attend the Annual General Meeting and present financial performance to stakeholders
  • Establish robust financial planning, monitoring, and reporting frameworks to ensure major projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Prepare the Annual Report and statutory financial statements
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Lead system and process improvement initiatives to improve management information and deliver cost efficiencies
  • Oversee the finance team's delivery of monthly reporting, year‑end processes, indirect tax returns, and payroll services
  • Build the long‑term capacity and capability of the finance function
  • Undertake additional duties as required to support organisational objectives
