This role involves leading financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management while fostering team development. As Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for strengthening the organisation's overall financial position. You will oversee day‑to‑day finance operations while working closely with senior leaders to enhance performance, manage risk, and support major organisational change.
This is a broad, influential role that extends well beyond traditional financial control. You will contribute to structural change, systems implementation, and cultural development, helping to shape a modern, forward‑looking finance function.
Deliver accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting aligned with relevant accounting standards and regulatory expectations
Lead the budgeting and forecasting cycle, providing clear analysis to inform strategic decisions
Manage cash flow and working capital to ensure financial resilience and operational agility
Oversee financial analysis to identify efficiencies, synergy opportunities, and areas for investment
Establish and maintain strong internal controls, ensuring adherence to tax and statutory requirements
Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team with a focus on accountability and continuous improvement
Support major organisational initiatives, including restructuring, systems upgrades, and transformation programmes
Preparation, review, and interpretation of monthly and annual financial statements
Full ownership of the planning cycle, variance analysis, and forward‑looking financial insight
Maintaining liquidity, optimising working capital, and strengthening cash management processes
Conducting ROI assessments, investment evaluations, and scenario modelling to guide decision‑making
Managing internal controls, audits, and compliance with tax and regulatory obligations
Building capability within the finance team and fostering a strong performance culture
Collaborating with senior stakeholders to influence financial and operational strategy

You will bring:
Extensive experience in senior finance roles, ideally at Financial Controller level
Strong technical accounting expertise and a solid understanding of regulatory frameworks
Proven experience across financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
A track record of delivering high‑quality financial analysis to support strategic decisions
A collaborative leadership style with experience developing and motivating finance teams
Excellent communication skills and the confidence to challenge and influence senior stakeholders
Strong systems capability, including experience with ERP platforms and advanced Excel skills
Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and internal control frameworks
Knowledge of corporate finance, tax, and audit processes
Experience supporting ERP implementations and wider business transformation initiatives
