Qualifications

Overview

A successful and growing manufacturing & retail business based in Scarborough is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join their team on a permanent basis offering a competitive salary of up to £55,000, 33 days holiday, and hybrid working options. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and supporting cashflow management in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies and accounting standards
  • Manage monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving variances promptly
  • Take responsibility for cashflow reporting and forecasting to support business operations
  • Oversee payroll reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines
  • Lead and support the AP & AR teams to ensure efficient processing of invoices and payments
  • Carry out daily cash postings, bank reconciliations, and ensure funds are allocated correctly
  • Support internal and external audits and drive continuous improvements across finance processes
Qualifications
  • Proven experience within financial accounting, ideally within manufacturing or retail
  • Strong technical knowledge of payroll reconciliations, AP, AR, and cash management
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage, alongside strong Excel skills
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
  • Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) would be advantageous
