On behalf of Arup, we are looking for a Global Finance PMO - Finance Systems and Process Project Manager for a 6-month contract based in London/Bristol (hybrid).

Purpose of the role:

The Finance Business Services PMO supports a global change program across Finance Business Services, which in turn supports the wider Global Finance strategy. The role is critical in working with the Group Head of Finance Programmes to deliver projects that support the wider Finance Business Services team in delivering global change programs.

What you'll do:
  1. Drive the effective and efficient delivery of defined projects for finance systems and processes across the global finance community.
  2. Execute project deliverables, ensuring business owners and stakeholders are aligned with responsibilities and committed to timelines.
  3. Coordinate the performance of resources assigned to the project team, including internal and external personnel, and oversee dependencies affecting the project.
  4. Ensure frameworks are established and actively managed for project planning, scheduling, quality review, and governance, including managing risks and issues.
  5. Proactively monitor progress, resolve issues, identify solutions, initiate corrective actions, and escalate when necessary to meet project deadlines.
  6. Build and support relationships with process owners and stakeholders, managing expectations during the project lifecycle.
  7. Administer and manage project and design team meetings, workshops, and reviews.
  8. Work closely with process owners and team members to identify requirements, solutions, and new ways of working that contribute to project success.
  9. Monitor, evaluate, record, and report progress within the established governance framework and budgets.
  10. Conduct post-project reviews, close-down activities, and handover to Business As Usual (BAU) processes and owners.
  11. Maintain project documentation, reports, logs, and registers.
  12. Capture lessons learned and ensure they inform future projects.
  13. Use project management tools and techniques (e.g., MS Project, risk analysis) to oversee project status and outcomes.
The skills you'll need:
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery throughout the entire lifecycle.
  • Expertise in project management including planning, estimating, business case development, budgeting, and RAID management (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies).
  • Experience delivering finance systems and process projects within global, complex, and evolving finance environments.
  • Strong proficiency in project scheduling and reporting tools, e.g., MS Project, Excel.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and transparently.
  • Ability to influence decision-makers and suggest innovative solutions.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to create training and communication materials.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple business areas.
