Salary per annum, Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week, Pro Rata.

Role

Join us as a Schools Finance Business Support Officer in the Schools Finance Team. You will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of over 500 schools across Lancashire in a supportive and innovative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality financial administration support processing journals payments purchase orders and invoices. You will generate and distribute financial system reports and be in regular communication with schools via email telephone and the Lancashire Schools Portal.
  • Support schools operating their own bank accounts such as uploading transfer files into the ledger processing VAT reimbursements and managing monthly direct debits. You will act as a source of technical advice for a range of stakeholders within schools and across the council.
  • Assist with key areas of work such as academy conversions financial year processes and audit queries. You will co-ordinate the collection of statutory and management information returns from schools and maintain the accuracy of school financial data through regular review.
About you
  • Holds GCSE qualifications (or equivalent).
  • Has experience in financial administration or can demonstrate the ability to perform such duties effectively.
  • Possesses strong numeracy skills and is proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel and Word.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently with the ability to build effective relationships across schools and council departments.
  • Can explain financial information to a variety of stakeholders and work accurately under pressure.
  • Works well both independently and as part of a team.
